ਸੋਰਠਿ सोरठि Soraṯẖ Sorat'h:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ. One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਬਹੁ ਪਰਪੰਚ ਕਰਿ ਪਰ ਧਨੁ ਲਿਆਵੈ ॥ बहु परपंच करि पर धनु लिआवै ॥ Baho parpancẖ kar par ḏẖan li▫āvai. Practicing great hypocrisy, he acquires the wealth of others.
ਸੁਤ ਦਾਰਾ ਪਹਿ ਆਨਿ ਲੁਟਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ सुत दारा पहि आनि लुटावै ॥१॥ Suṯ ḏārā pėh ān lutāvai. ||1|| Returning home, he squanders it on his wife and children. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਭੂਲੇ ਕਪਟੁ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ मन मेरे भूले कपटु न कीजै ॥ Man mere bẖūle kapat na kījai. O my mind, do not practice deception, even inadvertently.
ਅੰਤਿ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਪਹਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ अंति निबेरा तेरे जीअ पहि लीजै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Anṯ niberā ṯere jī▫a pėh lījai. ||1|| rahā▫o. In the end, your own soul shall have to answer for its account. ||1||Pause||
ਛਿਨੁ ਛਿਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਛੀਜੈ ਜਰਾ ਜਨਾਵੈ ॥ छिनु छिनु तनु छीजै जरा जनावै ॥ Cẖẖin cẖẖin ṯan cẖẖījai jarā janāvai. Moment by moment, the body is wearing away, and old age is asserting itself.
ਤਬ ਤੇਰੀ ਓਕ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਨੀਓ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ तब तेरी ओक कोई पानीओ न पावै ॥२॥ Ŧab ṯerī ok ko▫ī pānī▫o na pāvai. ||2|| And then, when you are old, no one shall pour water into your cup. ||2||
ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ॥ कहतु कबीरु कोई नही तेरा ॥ Kahaṯ Kabīr ko▫ī nahī ṯerā. Says Kabeer, no one belongs to you.
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਕੀ ਨ ਜਪਹਿ ਸਵੇਰਾ ॥੩॥੯॥ हिरदै रामु की न जपहि सवेरा ॥३॥९॥ Hirḏai rām kī na jāpėh saverā. ||3||9|| Why not chant the Lord's Name in your heart, when you are still young? ||3||9||
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮਨ ਪਵਨੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਬਨਿਆ ॥ संतहु मन पवनै सुखु बनिआ ॥ Sanṯahu man pavnai sukẖ bani▫ā. O Saints, my windy mind has now become peaceful and still.
ਕਿਛੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਗਨਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ किछु जोगु परापति गनिआ ॥ रहाउ ॥ Kicẖẖ jog parāpaṯ gani▫ā. Rahā▫o. It seems that I have learned something of the science of Yoga. ||Pause||
ਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਖਲਾਈ ਮੋਰੀ ॥ गुरि दिखलाई मोरी ॥ Gur ḏikẖlā▫ī morī. The Guru has shown me the hole,
ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਰਗ ਪੜਤ ਹੈ ਚੋਰੀ ॥ जितु मिरग पड़त है चोरी ॥ Jiṯ mirag paṛaṯ hai cẖorī. through which the deer carefully enters.
ਮੂੰਦਿ ਲੀਏ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ॥ मूंदि लीए दरवाजे ॥ Mūnḏ lī▫e ḏarvāje. I have now closed off the doors,
ਬਾਜੀਅਲੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਬਾਜੇ ॥੧॥ बाजीअले अनहद बाजे ॥१॥ Bājī▫ale anhaḏ bāje. ||1|| and the unstruck celestial sound current resounds. ||1||
ਕੁੰਭ ਕਮਲੁ ਜਲਿ ਭਰਿਆ ॥ कु्मभ कमलु जलि भरिआ ॥ Kumbẖ kamal jal bẖari▫ā. The pitcher of my heart-lotus is filled with water;
ਜਲੁ ਮੇਟਿਆ ਊਭਾ ਕਰਿਆ ॥ जलु मेटिआ ऊभा करिआ ॥ Jal meti▫ā ūbẖā kari▫ā. I have spilled out the water, and set it upright.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ कहु कबीर जन जानिआ ॥ Kaho Kabīr jan jāni▫ā. Says Kabeer, the Lord's humble servant, this I know.
ਜਉ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਤਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੨॥੧੦॥ जउ जानिआ तउ मनु मानिआ ॥२॥१०॥ Ja▫o jāni▫ā ṯa▫o man māni▫ā. ||2||10|| Now that I know this, my mind is pleased and appeased. ||2||10||
